My report showed a different ancestry than how I identify. How should I interpret my results?

In some cases, your ancestry based on your DNA may not match the ancestral group you identify with. For example, it is possible for someone who identifies as African American to see their ancestry as “Admixed American” on their reports. This mismatch is strictly the result of our scientific analysis and assessment of your DNA markers.
Research around DNA and ancestry is still improving, and as we expand our knowledge, we’ll be able to more and more accurately match your unique ancestry to our analysis.
